Getting Your Buisness on the Web
Your company's website serves as an advertisement telling people who you are and
what you have to offer them. Before DJW can develop a site for you, we will need
you to send us some information about your company, and any preferences you have
about the look of your website. Please carefully read and follow in the
instructions on how to submit this information, then proceed
to our Design Questionnaire.
Questionnaire Instructions
Each item on the Questionnaire is numbered, and requires a written response.
Your submitted Questionnaire should be typed and the corresponding item number
should clearly appear at the beginning of each response. You may send us your
written response in one of the following ways:
- Email. We strongly encourage this method, as it allows us to develop
your site more quickly. Include your Questionnaire response in the body
of the message, or as a plain text or MS Word formatted attachment. Send
email to djw@djwizard.com, with
the subject heading "Design Questionnaire".
- Fax. Fax your typed Questionnaire response to us at (415) 491-4784.
- Conventional Mail. Send your typed Questionnaire response by mail to:
Design Questionnaire

San Rafael, CA 94903
Digital Images
Some of items on the Questionnaire ask you to send a photograph or picture.
We prefer that pictures be digital, that is, already scanned or otherwise
in the computer. While we can use a wide range of image formats, the following
are preferred: TIFF, BMP, PSD, TGA. The higher the resolution (appears
bigger on the screen) and picture quality of the image, the better it is.
- Email. Send the image(s) as an email attachment. If you send your Questionnaire
by email, you can attach the images to that email.
- Conventional Mail. Put the image(s) on a Zip disc or CD-ROM and mail the disc
to us. The disk MUST be a PC/Windows readable format. We can NOT use Mac
formatted discs.
When sending digital pictures, be sure to indicate the file name of the picture
in the corresponding Questionnaire response.
Printed Images
If it is not feasible to send your picture digitally as describe above, you
may mail us printed images. Be sure that the picture quality is good enough for
scanning. DO NOT send photocopies, faxes or low-resolution inkjet printouts.
If you are unsure about an image, call us and ask.
Design Questionnaire
First read the instructions carefully,
then complete the Questionnaire.
-
How can you be contacted and where are you located?
- Phone Numbers
- Fax Number
- Email Address
- Mailing Address
- Store Location(s)
-
Describe your company. What products and services do you offer? What qualities
does your company have that sets it apart from your competition? Does your company
have a specialty, and if so what is it? Do you have: a convenient location, friendly
service, a family owned business? How many years have you been in business?
This information will largely appear in an "About Us" section of your website.
-
Sometimes providing general information about the kind of products you carry
can attract visitors to your website. Some examples of this are at
Diamonds on Web. Although
these 'buying guide' sections do not always sell your products directly, they make
visitors to your site more comfortable with making a purchase, and give a positive
impression of your company because, in the customer's eyes, you cared enough to
educate them about your products. Would you like to include such an area on your
site? If so, provide the basic information it should contain.
-
Does your company have a logo image that you want included on your site? If so, send it.
-
Do you have any other promotional images such as photos of your merchandise? If
so, please send them.
-
Do you have any color or style preferences for the look of your website? If
so, give a description of what you have in mind and/or provide examples of the
look you want.
-
Is there any other information that you want people to have your company and
its products, such as trade shows you will be appearing at, sales or special
offers you feature, etc.?
-
Are there any other considerations or specifications you would like us to take
into account when designing your site?
