A firewall allows you to hide your network from the outside world while on an open connection to the Internet (i.e. DSL or CABLE connection).

Without a firewall, hackers can break into your network. Once they are in, they can steal your data, delete your entire hard drive, or leave viruses. It is crucial to have a firewall in place which can monitor your Network and Web Server at all times.

A firewall intercepts data coming in from and out to the Internet. With a sensible security policy and security rules designed to implement that policy, a firewall can provide strong protection for a LAN against attacks.
